Iam making a outdoor coffee table type thingy for fathers dayFor my dad and it will have a piece of marble on it. I have hadthis marble since I was in school, got it from shop class andit has been in my parents garage since. I want to keep simplewith no paint just wire wheel the steel and hit with scotch bright pads , but is there anything I can do to give that oldrustic and weathered look so I can put a few coats of clearon it. Of course I don't want rust all over it before the clear coat.Old and rustic with clear coat is the key .I would greatly appreciate any help. James
Reply:depending on how you do the frame you could heat the metal and quench it in oil to give it that dark patina. but you'd either need a VERY large oil tank, or to be able to bolt the frame together. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
