If anyone in the Dallas area knows where I can put my hands on a 25 to 30 gallon used air compressor tank (without the compressor) to turn into a sandblaster please let me know.  I was hoping to find one rrrreeeeeaaaaaallllllyyyy cheap and of course I will come and haul it off.  Small Propane tanks that have been damaged are OK too.  If anyone has a lead on one please send a PM or post it here. ThanksMichael
Reply:Get yourself an old propane tank, the larger ones, when turned upside down, have the start of a good sand funnel. Copy the type that has the fill port / tank plug on the inside, so you cannot open the tank without dumping the air, (think safety)Check the pressure rating on the tank, and use a good pressure relief valve of a lesser value.Just my  opinion, not from a book, just from the road.Howes Welding Inc.www.howesweldinginc.com
Reply:Thanks Tessdad,I already have plans and a design from the PA_Sandblaster yahoo group.  Rob Berkel has an excellent design for a pressure assisted unit.  I just need a donor tank to get started.  I don't want to have to buy a new tank (sans compressor) and then proceed to cut it up.Safety is always on the top of the list.Michael
