I'm questioning the legality of this and if its practical.I'm only asking because my old plastic box got a bit to hot and melted...
Reply:Why would it be not 'legal' to bolt whatever you want to your trailer?Ranger 250 thick stuffHobart Handler 140 not thick stuffthe pane and oxy setup
Reply:The only issue you'll get is people trying to nick your tools unless its secured, also you'll have the waterproof issue? whats to stop water getting inside?

Reply:Shop type tool boxes don't handle pounding down the road AT ALL. It'll quickly start to break up. Broken spot welds, drawer tracks falling apart, etc.Not a good idea IMO.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:I agree with Duane except that I've actually had pretty good luck with one. I don't think they'd hold up well on a trailer. Way to much bouncing. However I used to have a about 7 drawer Craftsman top box mounted in the side of the bed on my Toyota. It was simple slides rather than ball and had shallow drawers. But I had it completely and positively stuffed with stuff. When I emptied it to move my tools to a new truck I covered a 10'x10' table with tools. It actually held up a lot better than I'd ever imagine. I still have it after cutting it out of the truck (after my nephew rolled it). But riding there right behind the cab mounted solidly to the truck it didn't get near as much bouncing and rattling as say a trailer would.Millermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm

Reply:I bolted it on and it seems to work well. This trailer is rarely taken long distances. And as for people stealing my stuff its locked with two metal bars securing the drawers. I believe it will work for now. This isn't designed for rig welding but since I inherited it last year I've been adding onto it.Here it is:
Reply:FWIW, i could break into that box in under 10 seconds, both top and bottom. Dont ever leave it parked antwhere.
