Recently I ran across some "pipe" at a yard here in Houston.the guy had 20 feet of it he had gotten in some kind of odds and ends, or scrap purchase. It is 16" OD by 11 or 12 gauge. They were two 10' pieces, with no apparent seam.It makes a pretty nice backyard grill, and I would like to find a regular source for it, but don't have a clue as to what it really is.Any ideas?Last edited by geezerbill; 11-21-2014 at 04:03 PM.Hobart Beta-Mig 2511972 Miller AEAD-200LEMiller 250 TwinNorthern Ind. Reply:Sounds like 16" schedule 10.
Reply:Sounds like 16 inch .188 wall
Reply:Casing, its well casing. It looks almost like it was machined almost? Thats the good stuff. If you just want 16 round 11 gauge you would be cheapest to roll it from sheet. Can talk to your local casing contractor, like Haliburton, for the casing drop.Constant Current Weldor.
Reply:Thanks, I will chase down those options.Last time I checked, a local fab shop wanted 80.00 to roll my 4' x 5' sheet of 12 ga into a 4'x19" tube. Add the price of the sheet, and I might as well buy 1/4" pipe, but It is just too heavy for some folks, for a patio grill.Hobart Beta-Mig 2511972 Miller AEAD-200LEMiller 250 TwinNorthern Ind.
