Best way to clean a AD filter lens?

Hello everyone,I have a Speedglas 9100xx that I payed a pretty penny for and I took out the filter to inspect the surface and I noticed dust from the shop and metal debris are all over it and well it is just kind of dirty.  I was just curious if there is any way to clean it without scratching the lens.  I know with my prescripton glasses I wash them with water before I clean them to prevent scratches, but I cant do that being that it's electronic.  If it was just my standard fixed shade I wouldn't give a you know what but this thing has made me a lot of money and it's my baby
Reply:Cover lens should protect it from stuff like this. In all the years I've had my Miller, I've never seen dust or grit on the actual AD lens. You might want to check the seal between the AD and the cover lens.If I had to clean it, I'd treat it like a very expensive camera lens. The sell ( or at least they used to when I still had a good film camera) little blow brushes with super soft bristle brushes for dusting off camera lenses. Between blowing and brushing you can get a lot of the stuff off.  I'd also use lens cleaning paper if I was going to wipe it down. If it looks like it's a lot of metal dust. I might lay down a layer or two of lens paper and see if a magnet will carefully lift the metal dust off. I wouldn't wipe or anything, just get it as close as possible without actually touching if possible and see if the magnet will pull the stuff off..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:There is a little place where a spark broke the seal and it lets stuff get in do you think super glue would fix it?  its just a little burn mark where a spark burnt Right at the seal tho
