We have an older Airco welder that we are having trouble getting the torch to work. I used this welder for 2 years and sold it to a buddy when I picked up a syncro wave. During transporting this huge machine the foot pedal control broke and it also broke the torch. So he bought a new torch and and got a new plug for the machine. It is hooked up 220VWhen we hit the pedal the solenoids for water and gas trigger and start flowing.I measured the voltage in and out of the pedal to make sure that the potentiometer in the pedal was still working and it did work. The voltage adjustment has multiple large wires hooked up to it that get 36VsWhen we hit the pedal the power block on receives about 5V ACAny help would be great. Thanks in advance
Reply:Essentially what I need to know is what controls the voltage to the torch. The damn machine has no part number on it(worn off). I know the foot pedal controls something. Does it control some type of magnetic switch or solenoid. This is what the machine looks like. There is a wiring schematic on it but it is very hard to read. The top left of this machine has a 3 prong plug that goes to the foot pedal. This plug has 1 ground 2 powers but are low voltage. This was the plug that was replaced.
Reply:Machine you have is Airco version of a 330ab/p.  I can't tell ya exactly how its supposed to work but you can get on millers website and download the manual for the 330ab/p if that helps, will be same schematic and all.

Reply:All of the machine numbers are at the bottom center of the faceplate and are clearly visible in the pic.
Reply:That stock number crosses over to: Miller 901041  330-A/BP208/230/460 Volt300A Heliwelder with A/B Panel and PFC.
Reply:So I was just informed that the wiring was wrong to the plug. He rewired it according to the owners manual for the miller part number for the foot pedal. But the machine still does not strike an arc. I am trying to find the wiring diagram for the back side of that plug to make sure that it is wired correctly on the back side.
