Thanks to Fabn4Fun for the advice on the paint can strainer bags for paint.  Looks like a bag made out of fine mesh.  You can put it over an empty can, and pour the paint through it.  It flows pretty freely, and removes all small particles.IT WORKS, AND WORKS GREAT!!http://www.amazon.com/Gallon-Elastic...t+strainer+bagI'm able to get them cheaper at the Sherwin Williams store, but I included the link for those who aren't familiar with the things.  A MUST HAVE FOR SPRAYING"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:So, anyhow..for those who haven't used these things.Cut the bag thingie up in small pieces, large enough to rubber band around the neck of the paint cup.  Easily get about 6 pieces out of the larger size bags.This is some old paint.I love this stuff, it's relatively cheap, and lasts like IRON.Some really goopy stuff full of chunks of dried chunks.  Been stored a long time.The dried skin on top of the paint in the can.Sprayed like a charm with no clogsThe rack thingie in the background is made of 1" tubing (14ga) with 1 1/2" collars at the top to allow the long piece to slide, and the legs to camber inwards, and move somewhat side to side, and up and down.  This is very handy for painting the little pieces, and it works well on rough ground because the collars are so loose.  Been years since I made it. Reply:Originally Posted by farmersammSorry, but you do have to prime it  I use the primer from Van Sickle.  The red oxide is phenominal.  I painted the loader about 12yrs ago, and the places where chains have knocked the paint off are still covered by the original coat of primer, WITH NO RUST.I think this stuff is one of the most closely kept secrets in the paint industry, it leaves all the other brands in the dust  In Oklahoma it's available at Atwoods, not sure where else it's available out of this area.I mean 30 bucks for a good quality alkyd enamel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WOWSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!
