Have a chance to buy a S32-p suitcase to add to my Trailblazer. What do you know about the 32p. I wanted a 12rc but found a 32p to buy for a great price..     Thanks AWPmanLast edited by AWPMAN; 05-18-2014 at 06:47 PM.
Reply:Its an across the arc feeder , probably at least 10 years old. It was replaced by the 12VS. I have a couple of them and am very happy with the results. I prefer them to a RC feeder since you don't need the expensive control cable.Miller xmt304,  Miller S22 p12, Miier Maxstar SD, Miller 252 w 30A, Miller super32p12, Lincoln Ranger 9, Thermal Arc 181I with spoolgun, Hypertherm 10000 ,Smith torches. Reply:@ AWPMAN - dig the S32-P with my TB301G and XMT304.  Light, basic, and tough.  Ref:  http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...ion&highlight="Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:Most guys won't notice much of a difference between the two run on CV. An RC unit would allow you to make changes at the feeder, but you are limited in max length and have an extra wire running back to the machine. The ability to change voltages at the feeder might be useful in some circumstances.A VS unit like the S32-P will work on a wider variety of machines than an RC feeder will, and you aren't tied to a max control cable length. I believe the "Super" designation on those S 32P's means it has the gas valve and/or contactor installed ( not completely sure, I have a Super S32P and it has both, so I don't pay all that much attention to the others)..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:i have the exact setup  300d with  the s32p suitcase it works great can weld  anywhere  no control cable   i use it for flux core  never misses a beat
Reply:Thanks!!! Times 100. Junkdog,MJD,Duanneb55,Maokai,DSW,and Miller tech support Almost missed it. Turns out its a super   S-32p. Was back in the area and stopped in and could not find it on shelf. The store had moved it and dropped the price more. I would have paid what they had on it. Called Miller tech to hook up and test on a bobcat. The store owner and Miller did not know what to think of me, I wanted to make sure it worked and it worked.  With every ones support and knowing what this is gave me a big advantage.                    The AWPmanLast edited by AWPMAN; 05-21-2014 at 09:00 PM.

Reply:@ Stick-man - attempting to integrate my Bernard QT3 45 Gun, used mainly with my XMT304 CC/CV and S74DX Feeder, into my Super S32-P Suitcase.  No luck in sourcing the correct Bernard/Miller parts.  Even talked with techs at Miller and Bernard.  The "S32-P" currently has a Tweco gun with that little gas block and the Bernard QT3 45 Gun is not a direct fit.  Curious what gun you have on your "S-32P"?  The motivation for switching the suitcase to a Bernard setup is gun (centerfire consumables) uniformity across operating platforms (i.e. XMT304 w/ S74DX Feeder, TB301G w/ Super S32-P).  Really like to find a plug and play solution for the Bernard into the "32P".  Appreciate any tech leads or avenues to explore for this setup.  Mahalo!"Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:@ 7A749 - appreciate the detailed info bro via PM. Will try your approach tomorrow and see how she runs.  Shaka!"Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:Hey Kai , I have a K&K gun on my feeder. It is a Tweco copy of a Number 2 or 3. I'm not too familiar with what you are referring to, so I'm sure Steve will be able to help you better. Reply:I will snap a pic of mine if I get a chance today. I think mine has an adapter also."Where's Stick man????????" - 7A749"SHHHHHH!! Reply:@ 7A749 - located, by feel, the barb you show on the back side of the drive casting (post #12).  Now, just need to deintegrate the panel, access the barbed connector, cut/connect the rubber hose, install the Bernard Q Gun with Miller pin, and press play.  You consult makes total sense, as always.  Mahalo @ Stick-man - appreciate the offer.  Think we'll be GTG bro!"Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
Reply:Update:  connected the Super S32-P's black rubber (factory) gas line to the drive casting's barb.  Did not have to disassemble any components (e.g. motor, electronics panel), but installation did require using the index finger of both hands to manipulate the line {semi-blindly} onto the barb.  Once upstream slack was gained, the gas line easily set on to the barbed fitting.  Installed the Bernard Q Gun in to the "32" and powered her ON via the XMT304.  She ran like a champ during a few fillet weld test runs on 1/4" mild steel using .030 ER70-S2 and C25 shielding.@ 7A749 - Mahalo loa nui for shedding light on the situation and making the Bernard QT gun solution a reality.  "Discovery is to see what everybody else has seen, and to think what nobody else has thought" - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
