fired up my TA 211i

for the first time. First time I'd  welded anything  since my one time in the 1980s welding some plate with a big old stick machine. Once I got the power set right ( 55 - 56 amps)  it stick welded beautifully,  no stuck stick, no blow through,  it's a crappy picture but it's my first weld  woo hooNow I gotta find me some gas and try my hand at MIG and  GTAW. I purchased the pedal with this Lift-TIG box which should make things easier. Consummables were Lincoln - Fleetweld 180 Premium Stick Electrode E6011 3/32 Anyway here's the proof. Hey~!! It's a hobby. It's not supposed to make sense~!!

Reply:That 252i has a beefy duty cycle (40%) for not a lot of money.  I might have gone for that machine but for the fact that  the 20% on the 211 is for 210 amps and unless I'm welding heavy stuff I won't be at that power output. For most of what I'll likely be welding the Duty Cycle will  70% or even 100% with amp load between 50 and 120.    I just emailed TA to complain about the work clamp  and demand that they send me  the one that the literature describes and also shows a photograph of.  P 3 of the brochure. They have had this issue since at least the beginning of the Fabricator line. I can't believe they just leave the brochure as it is without changing it.   Maybe  almost nobody complains and they have a boat load of the brochures already printed?Hey~!! It's a hobby. It's not supposed to make sense~!!

Reply:The supplied  work clamp is  stamped and bent up  sheet metal  with copper tips.It'll serve prolly just fine, but it's not the one in the picture.They can't show you one thing and provide you another.Hey~!! It's a hobby. It's not supposed to make sense~!!
