Reply:thanks for the info  i cant find chit--  lets hope it works- looks like i bought it- might end up burning me cost me 271.00 ill pick it up tomorrow. lets hope that it works, it looks really cleanon the other hand i only have to finish my open root class and ill be done with my SMAW classes and will move on to mig or tig. i laid down some sweet stringer 7018 overhead today.... oh yea. Reply:sweet, i figure ill pick it up tomarrow afternoon- not sure if it has a ground or stinger, either way its bought. then i just need to grab some electrodes and do some patching on my scout.I will let ya know what happens after i pick it up.

Reply:I already downloaded and read through most of the manual, I'll give the thermal arc a good look and cleaning before i test it out. i hope it does weld for a long time as i have plenty of stuff to do with it.

Reply:got it, im a little sad- someone decided to cut the power cord- maybe it was directly tied in? although it looks to be wired for 3 phase- which is a little weird since on the bill of sale shows single phase and all the info i could find shows single phase too, who know's ill take it apart this weekend and see what the truth is.  Now i need to get a ground and stinger, that thing is super heavy it  was almost too much for my brother and i to take out of the back of the pickup.  on a side note im doing overhead 7018 bevel groove with back strap, i have cut and welded several 1/4" plate steel with backing strap and 37 degree bevel, so far after gouging out the backing strap and cutting down to 8"x1.5" strips then polished, i keep getting porosity i would assume down the groove of a weld, the porosity is super small spots but it just wont do- thinking it might be long arc?  I have another i did today they just need to be polished and if clean a bend test. any ideas folks, sorry no pics im using 120 ams and also clean after each weld with a wire wheel machine. thanks
