So my friend came to me and asked if I could build him some fishing rod holders otherwise known as a rocket launcher for the deep sea fishermen. He's building a small boat just for his family that he takes and goes on small fishing trips along the oregon and washington coast. So I took some measurements and went to work. I also machined some flanges and surprised him by engraving the name of his boat on them. I guess just take a look at the pics. It turned out good for only my 2nd stainless project. The first one was a table.So first post is of the boat he custom built. He's a woodworker and doesn't deal with metal that's why he came to me for help. Reply:Second post shows the flange and rod holders that will be bolted to the deck of the boat. They were cut at 15 degrees and welded on both sides as seen in pics. Reply:I machined some plastic sleeves to fit down in the pipes to keep the fishing rods from being damaged.Based on time I had to hurry and finish up the rocket launcher so my friend could leave to go fishing so i didn't get very many more pics of the build just the finished project. Reply:Last post shows the piece installed on the boat. The inside of the boat isn't finished yet but my friend will finish it when he gets back. Overall, the project was different and something I've never built before so it was a good experience. Reply:Nice work...I would take a wire wheel to the welds and make them all look the same..But that's just me....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
