I built this for a family member who had no way of fueling his toys. Its .100" aluminum on sides and bottom, 3/8 on top to help the fill neck / boss draw down. Completely TIG welded. Cart is made from 1.5" alum angle iron that I welded together to make tubing.  RG Attached ImagesRG_______________________Hobart 187Northern Tool Plasma 375Harris 85 O/A Rig (Ireland)
Reply:Nice, very nice.  I've seen similar (fuel station on wheels) or fuel stations that look like over sized air tanks for sale.  I guess you can't get all the fuel out if you are fueling, say a 4 wheeler if the tank you are filling is higher then the bottom of the portable tank.... Or did you allow a feature to pressurize the tank (ie small air chuck adapter.....) to get the last bit of gas out?
Reply:why wouldn't you just use a crank pump? or and electric pump to get the fuel out. no need for cyphoning at all. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:Don't quote me, but I think it's hard to find (at least at the local places here) a pump that's rated for gasoline.  Most of them are for heavier fuel oils.  And I believe there's the issue of metals resistant to sparking, and hoses that don't build static, pressure ratings on the tanks, and venting as well as headspace for expansion.Gasoline is a funny animal"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Now someone will find the exact components on the internet LOL.  Ah well "Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:I looked at all of those items mentioned. I chose to leave it as gravity and on the top of the tank, I paneled over a hole I cut for a crank pump that can be added. Yea the plastic ones are cheap but a pretty limited capacity. Components didnt seem to be great quality. This one holds 19 gal. A metal one that size is about $500. Reply:What promped this build was my Uncle has a boat at a lake that wont permit a fuel dock at the marina due to the enviromental impact it may have if there was ever a leak. Consequently, he and every other boat owner carry cans and spill half of the fuel in the lake anyway because of trying to fill a floating boat from a floating dock. Everytime anything comes by the boats and docks move and the filler spills fuel. Now with a nozzle and hose he should be spill free. Its amazing how when a well intended citizen puts on the politician hat, everything gets screwed up!!!RG_______________________Hobart 187Northern Tool Plasma 375Harris 85 O/A Rig (Ireland)
Reply:Cool and great build! It looks good, like the red color. It's very convenient to use. Well done!
Reply:You can still buy the "race" jugs and put a flexible hose on them. We fuel all the boats at our marina with them. Although they are technically illegal, you don't spill a drop with them. Although I did have an employee who filled a customers bilge vent instead of the tank on his boat, redulting in 20 gallons of fuel in the hull. That was a bad day.   The  EPA approved jugs don't last us a month, resulting in many going to the dump. They don't look at the big picture.
Reply:http://www.ebay.com/bhp/gas-can-ventjust add these to your new tanks. Cheap, and easy and the new valved nozzles work great.and you're welcome. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
