I purchased a new radiator and on the top tank there is a small pinhole in the crater where a vertical and horizontal weld meet. Should I tig it, solder it or braze it. I don't want to send it back as it would be a major pain. I am checking to find a friend with ac tig machine but so far on found spool gun and dc machines. The hole is very small about the size of a straight pin point. Took forever to find it but am worried about getting to hot as it is where tank joins core I can load a picture from cell phone if nescessary.
Reply:I would tig it. Is the area thick enough to drill, tap, and loctite a screw in?Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.

Reply:No and cant get picture to load Attached Images
Reply:I pressure tested it and found this hole
Reply:Maybe pic did load
Reply:I must have had a brain fart picture did load and you can see small crater and hole
Reply:Well then if you don't have the means to weld it, I would suggest bringing it to a shop and have it welded. It's new and it sucks to have to do that, but unfortunately that's the world we live in lately. Sending stuff back is a royal pain in the butt.I hate being bi-polar it's awsomeMy Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys
Reply:I agree about sending it back, I still have a few places to check on ac tig, have access to dc tig but not much help with this. If all else fails will send back as they agreed to let me fix it and not void warranty and yes I got it in writing.
Reply:Thanks for the help I might use this as a reason to buy a tig setup.
Reply:Is the core brazed or is it put together with epoxy like Griffen? If it's brazed, you're okay to TIG weld it. If it's epoxy, then send it back. If you overheat the epoxy, the radiator is junk.Dynasty 300DXSmith He/Ar gas mixerMM350PHobart Handler 120Smith LW7, MW5, AW1A
Reply:I would contact who you got it from, they should" fix" it. Either by paying for repair or replacing the part.
