Hello, I am starting up a 4-H welding and metalworking project and I am in need for anyones extra welding gloves, jackets, helmets or anything that is not needed. I have some of this stuff, but I just got the list of members (6) and I am just shy of enough. I spoke with my local welding shop and they said that they can help with consumables, but I would rather not ask the parents to buy the kids PPE. If anyone bought a pair of gloves that are to small, or have an extra spare helmet laying around, please let me know. I am located in Manteca, CA. But travel all around the western states and could possibly pick up with time. Also any donations would be a tax write off. Thanks for your time,Alex
Reply:I could send a bunch of old gloves. They have holes, but are free. I'll pay shipping. I'm left handed so one glove has holes the other doesn't. If you can get a right handed guy to send some gloves in you'll have a bunch of good pairs. Dirty, but good.If you pay shipping i'll send some leathers and all my old gloves. About 5 pairs. The leathers are ripped up the arm. Can be sewn up.Last edited by WelderBoy; 09-30-2007 at 10:54 PM.
Reply:I've seen some come up at swap meets also. Pretty cheap, like a dollar or so for helmets, leathers and various types of gloves. Also Home Depot has some helmets for 20$. Thats pretty cheap? Just sugestions.
