Reply:That loud "clank" you just heard off to the west of you was my jaw hitting the table..... SWEET!!!!Agents are great for dealing with the galleries, but the public likes meeting the "artist". Just did a show where I was there the whole time for 4 days. It was exhausting, but gotta tell you, the learning from standing there listening to comments was worth every minute. Really valuable incite into how people see your work. What they liked and didn't. Great info for next time. If it's got humour, it will sell. And amazing what some people just get enamored with. I've got 90% of the punters fingerprints on my Nut and Bolt bowls and torso! And enough questions of"are they glued?" to confirm that people don't see the welds. They just see bowl made of nuts and bolts. Could have MIG'd them with the gas off and people wouldn't have batted an eye. Is the leaf copper filler on SS? Just superb!!!!200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.
Reply:Wonderful to hear.

Reply:This just amazes me!! I wish I could do something like that.

Then the mirror polished project is popped into the furnace @ 800*f, until I like the colors. I have yet to use chemical patinas on any of my projects. And I do attend the shows I enter, and I do talk to anyone who approaches. Getting up the nerve for these events is the tricky part.

Reply:Stunning!! I wish I had half your welding/artistic skills. I just looked at your facebook page, you should be proud of your work. When you go to a show your work will speak volumes for you... you just need to be there to handle all the sales. I won't be showing my wife your facebook page as she will expect me to be able to produce the same quality.JimMaxtor 150STH

Reply:I don't do facebook but I sure wish I could watch videos of you at work creating some of this stuff.  I am sure it is amazing to see.  You may not realize this but, to some of us, the work you do is almost unfathomable as to how you get it finished so well.  Nothing looks cobbled together like some metal artwork.  You stuff looks so natural and almost as if it has a life of its own.
Reply:Jeff- What was the bid from the carpenter?
Reply:Thanks Walden. I agree on the videos. I need to set up a "studio" in my garage.jlames - I don't understand the question.http://www.facebook.com/LockhartMetalArthttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Grumpy...44306259043484
Reply:Sorry, that was meant for another friend and I couldn't figure out how to recall it. Sorry.
