Little something I have been working on in my spare time at work. Got more pics of the front for some reason. That is just one of those 2,000lb hitch winches. Its a Samurai, they dont weigh much and a winch is mainly for myself. Plus I made it to be removable to mount it to the rear bumper also. Should be fine if I use a snatch block.Back view of front bumperFront bumper in natural Samurai state (upside down )And all primed up.The shackles are located so they are in direct line with where it mounts to the frame. The mounting plate is 1/4" plate welded to the 1/8" bumper and 9/16" bolts through to another 1/4" plate on the backside where the frame mount is. Ohio is a dumbass 2 plate state, so the front plate is on a removeable bracket in the front receiver. Only one of the back bumper. The lights are stop/turn/tail and there is going to be a set of round fog lamps recessed in between the D rings and the receiver as backup lights. I have the lights just need to pick up some 4" exhaust pipe to make buckets out of. Rear license plate gets relocated to the tailgate. The D rings are set up like the front. 1/4" plate welded to the 1/8" bumper, 9/16" bolts to the frame mount on the backside. And I should probably add a place to hook a set of safety chains, even though it will probably never pull a trailer. It has a whopping 60hp you know. Thanks for looking. If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before the bag of luck is empty."-Grandad circa 1990ish
Reply:Very nice, should work just fine for a samurai .
Reply:Really nice job!
Reply:That's awesome. Can't wait to see the photos of it installed.
Reply:Good work! I want to build some bumpers but I don't have a need on my vehicles

Reply:Whats your plan for installing the front? They've got that goofy frame with a tube running between it. I've been brain storming for the boys sammi but haven't came up with a good plan yet
Reply:Dang $(&%#*@ and stuff I want my Sammie back.  LOLNice work.  "G"ConductorX - The Volkswright Shophttp://volkswright.blogspot.com/http://bugwerks.blogspot.com/Miller DVI w/Spoolgun - Miller Plasma Cutter
Reply:I like the table your working off of as much if not more than the bumpers. I've been looking and it appears its 3 inch channel with about an inch to an inch and a half or so between each.Late to bed, and early to rise. Fish like hell so I don't have to make up lies. Reply:I'm not so sure that winch is going to last. You've got to remember they are rated for rolling resistance on level smooth ground. Not pulling a vehicle out of a hole where the mud is sucking on  it and the roots and rocks are preventing tires from rolling smoothly. Thats why its recommended to go with a minimum of 3x the weight of the vehicle for the rated pulling force of the winch. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:I didn't come up with the rule. just conveying what I was told. You'd probably be ok with just 2x the weight of the vehicle if you've got the right block and tackle set up. but in order to use those you need 2x-3x or more of the length of the pull for you line. which becomes just as spendy. There are no problems. Reply:I like your bumpers - nicely done    Keep the rubber side down man My younger brother had a sammi back when he was mudding.  I welded in spring over perches in addition to his lift springs, changed to deepest gears he could get and put a full spool in the rear.I also chopped all the metal behind the doors and cut open the front fenders to clear the huge tires. It walked around heavy rigs and made fun of them - but was slow on the highway Fun toys - if there is a next time I'll make cool bumpers too Dave J.Last edited by MinnesotaDave; 08-22-2013 at 11:21 PM.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
