Reply:VERY cool !!!    Would have NEVER thought of doing it that way.  Three questions though:1.  Any vibration or resonance problems with the arm "extended"?2.  How about cord management?  Maybe thru the arm?  It's always irritating to me to have to plug something in before I turn it on.3.  Angle stops?  I really enjoy the 22.5, 45 & 90deg stops on my miter saw and other things that rotate.Again, great job, hope you enjoy using it!Last edited by Fabn4Fun; 07-28-2013 at 11:47 AM.

Reply:if you want opinions not applauses... well it's a bad idea from the start , build 2 stands and be done with it.nice garage btw definitely no need for a few square cm of space saving contraptions--------------------------------------------------------------www.becmotors.nlyup, I quit welding.. joined welder anonymous

Reply:If you fill the round base and extended arm with fine sand it will significantly cut down on the vibrations.Miller Dynasty 200 DXBuildPro TMA52238 (38" x 22")Miller MP-10 & Jackson Nexgen EQC20 Ton Press & Swag HD Press Brake
Reply:Really cool, man!
Reply:I have to disagree with Donoharm. Not everyone is blessed with a huge shop to store a stand for each and every tool. I've got a stand that holds my miter saw, my bench sander and my bench grinder. It's a rolling stand so it can be stored out of the way and moved into possision when needed. and I usually use it outside. As my shop seems to be more for storing tools than for actually working it at this point due to lack of work space and plethura of tools. The next stage on my shop build is an awning over my parking pad to allow me a dry shaded workspace rain or shine. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:wow.. I stirred the pot a little bit maybe I didn't chose my words very well... I just like potential vibrating tools mounted on sturdy bases--------------------------------------------------------------www.becmotors.nlyup, I quit welding.. joined welder anonymous
Reply:meh, no worries. each person is allowed their opinions, and hey, we don't have to agree on everything. Just don't think he's going to have much if any vibration. At least not enough to cause problems. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:Although the first attempt was cool, I often use the sander & grinder when dressing the same piece and thought I wouldn't want to keep rolling it over.I read through your garage build over at Garage Journal and holy smokes that was a lot of prep work just to start building.Millermatic 200Hobart Handler 120Victor O/A & Ramco BandsawLincoln 225 ACSnapOn AD HoodMiller XMT304/22AHypertherm Powermax 1650 G3Lincoln Idealarc DC600 w/Extreme 12 VSMiller Digital Elite "Joker"

Reply:The thing that I like best about this thread is you spending time with your son.... wish all sons had that option
Reply:I would love to have the open table tops you have. I guess I never think about conserving space so I never have any. Hang onto it while you have it, for a lot of us it is an endangered species if not extinct.
