Reply:That large crane has changed the way all Nuclear power Plants will be built in the future, They are prefabing on site and lifting into place . I am amazed at the progress in a year.
Reply:i was curious to see the biggest non floating crane and after coming up blank for vogel i did get to see it.   i've worked around plenty of guy and stiff leg derricks on high rise construction but this thing is amazingly large. i wasn't surprised to read that cbi is involved but was dismayed to discover components for this plant were built in south korea.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
Reply:Shaw Construction was hiring a couple months ago at VC Summer near Columbia SC. It's SCE&G nuclear plant.
Reply:You can blame your friendly Nuclear Regulatory  Commission  for killing the Nuclear industry in the late 70's. All construction stopped  because of over regulation .  Now 30 years later NRC was afraid they were going to be out of a job , utilities were scraping plant to get out of paying Government extortion  to keep their license. and most heavy machine tooling is done over seas . What does Westinghouse have in Pa these days , same for GE . If we had to fight WWII today we would have to have the japs make the bomb for us .
Reply:Your right on having somebody else make the bomb for us gxbxc, I was laid off last January from the last American owned facility that enriches Uranium. They are 100% shut down now. United States is completely reliant on foreign contries for nuclear fuel now.Shake and Bake
