Hey guys,I'm located in middle Massachusetts, and I'm having a tough tube finding a supplier of stainless rectangular tube,I tried Sullivan's (Worcester/Holyoke) and they don't even carry it, nor can they order it, I found this strange because they stock almost anything you can think ofI need roughly 10' of 2x3x1/8, the wall thickness isn't critical, but the thicker the better.Anyone ever use the online metal suppliers? Their prices remind me of buying from home depot out the like (read: extremely over priced) I haven't tried central steel, or my personal favorite, Worcester county welding, but it seems to be a tough to source stock, I could also probably get away with 2x2 square tube as well. any idea's?Miller Spoolmate 200 w/t S-52 WirefeederMM 211'09 Miller Trailblazer 302
Reply:Have you tried ordering through a local welding/fab shop as part of his normal resupply? Reply:Jerry's approach often works for me. Being stainless I would also try a food processing plant as a source or suggested supply outlet they may know. In this area we have several ranging from soft beverage/ brewery plants to veg packing plants to manufacturers of SST transport (milk/food grade 88) trucks. Ask your welding supply house who is using CNS G3077-86: for stainless steel wire rod. CNS G3076-86: Chances are they are welding stainless and have a supplier. Good Luck
