WANTED: Lincoln SA-200 or SIMILAR

I am looking for a Lincoln SA-200 or similar.  SA-250, SAE-300, whatever.  Don't matter.  Needs to run and weld strong.  Appearance doesn't matter.  I can work steel and paint and make it look good again.I will pay $750.  Asking for too much for too little?  Well, there is one for $500 locally but I don't have the money right now so I am posting this in hope that by the time I have the funds, I will have a sale lined up.I live in Northwest Washington state.  I will travel up to 300 miles one way, more if it is in good condition.

Reply:Seems like I thought there is a boneyard further south, maybe in northern Colorado, but that has been awhile since I have been working in that area, man I picked up a SA-200 really cheap there and rebuilt it and sold it for about 1,800. they had alot of older welders and I am still trying to think of the name, soon as I remember you will be the first to know.  also try Stumpf's welding supply, they quoted me around 1,500 -2,500 for a good used reconditioned welder SA-200 F-163, I got ther number if you would like to talk them it is 618-566-4733, now these people are the only ones I will deal with do to pricings, everywhere else is to high and they could cut there price in half...Old PIpeFitters never Die, their rods get shorter and the gaps get wider!!!

Reply:I weld with a 1975 SA-200 and i wouldn't trade it for nothin, I have welded with classic 1 and miller big 40 and several other welders, but I still tend to like the SA-200 better than them all....but it is up to the welder himself to figure what machine he likes, Just my input.....Old PIpeFitters never Die, their rods get shorter and the gaps get wider!!!

Reply:One more thing let me tell you a short story while I was in nebraska welding some line up there... I was the slowest welder with the Miller Big 40 and 2 weeks later that welder was sold... there was 3 other welders and no matter how fast I wanted to weld that miller wouldn't push a rod for crap, yeah I got teased somethin fierce over that welder and never looked at another miller since....Old PIpeFitters never Die, their rods get shorter and the gaps get wider!!!
Reply:I know that pipeline is paying good money right now and it is up to or around 50.00 - 65.00 an hour, lot of work goin on in Texas as we speak, several different sizes of pipe and in Oklahoma they are paying welders there 500.00 a day to weld there pipe...Old PIpeFitters never Die, their rods get shorter and the gaps get wider!!!

Reply:Not sure where you are at, but if there is one for $500 that runs and welds, sell a body part or something and get it. Some, depending on what it year it is, will sell for close to that as a parts machine. I have paid $3-450 on some just for parts.
