I am looking for an electric Portaband saw. 110v/120v. I want a good brand, no knockoffs.Looking for a good deal, not asking for a freebie, but the pawn shops ask too much for them. I won't list a price because it depends on the brand and condition.Msg/Reply if you have one.

Reply:The Dewalt we had at work didn't last no time, it's chain drive and sucks. We have 4 milwaukees that's been abused and still work great. Just thought I'd throw that out there.DewayneDixieland WeldingMM350PLincoln 100Some torchesOther misc. tools
Reply:$200 for a like new Milwaukee isn't bad at all.I caught a deal on a Chicago Electric one at Harbor Freight. I forgot the price, but I paid something like $10 for a 5yr replacement warranty. I figure if it dies after 5 years, I got my money out of it. The guy working there said he had bought one and used it putting in sprinkler piping (fulltime professional use), and swore by it. I figured I'd give it a shot...and it's been about 2-3 years, and it's working fine.

Reply:I've seen some Porter Cable ones at the swap meet for 60$ in my area. Just might be worth a look. Some people buy them then just never use them or find another way to do the same thing. Then they just get rid of it cheap.
Reply:I find Porta-bands SO clumsy, that i usually find some other way to cut , before i even remember I have a Porta-band.[SIZE="5"Yardbird"
Reply:Porter Cable's are good, when they wore out we replaced them with Milwaukee. My personal Milwaukee came from ebay, $75 with new bronze bushings and rubbers on the wheels. |
