After 2 long years... I finished my table tonight...

Made from scrap... Accumulated over the last two years until this week it was the top sitting on the legs tacked together sitting on blocks... I used it like that for 2 years. 1/2" top, vice is removable, 6" casters with brakes, clamps on board!!Here's the vice mount being built, on a 2" reciever so i can take it off the table if it gets in the way. Reply:Nice !  First table I saw with a ball hitch for moving trailers. Kidding. Actually , those trailer balls are handy for shaping metal on.    The only issue I see is the ''BUD LIGHT'' can. WELDERMIKE may just try to convince to go to his " KEYSTONE LIGHT '' !

Reply:That is nice table.  hey look at the bright side, you beat Longevity's table build.  Did they ever finish?  I know, LOL, I'll hush.  Your table is much nicer than mine.  I have to replace my casters as the rubber has all rotted off and it doesn't lock anymore so I just use a small chunk of chain as a do all lock.  I love the vise post.I added expanded metal under my table for throwing scrap and hot metal on to cool.  be careful or it ends up being a catch all.
Reply:I like the way you mounted your vice.  I have that on the back burner to do to my table.   I was thinking of putting locking casters on my work table, but wondered if I got really rough with it if the table might slide around.   Good job, I know you will really get some use out of it. Do you have a welding helment for your dog.  Ha.  richey

Reply:What about weldng something off of the legs that would be feet to sit it on the ground for "locking wheels" and Leving table off.  Maybe some old Car Jacks from a Junkyard  Scissor style.
