Not sure where this will go or if this is the correct spot. I've been using my brothers Optrel and I really love that helmet. I can keep it on and hit the side button and go right into grinding mode. I've been looking at miller helmets as well but I don't like the digital button inside the helmet (or that's what it looks like). What do you guys think? The only thing I'm worried about with the miller is the sensors. I know with the opteral I did some really closed box work and the sensors kicked on no matter what as they're right above your eyes. The miller seems to bee far out with the wide viewing screen.
Reply:If you are talking about Millers Digital Elite, it's supposed to darken up due to EM if you are welding as well as with the sensors so if you are welding in awkward spots even blocked sensors won't keep it from darkening up. The older Non digital Elites didn't have that function, nor do their less expensive hoods. If you like the Optrel, then stick with it..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
