Hey guys, I'm looking for a cheap/used TIG torch with hose and what not. Really looking for the one piece line that has the tab that attaches to juice. I dont know the technical name for it. Reason I want a cheap one is because my friend and I are wanting to play around with one of those homemade (alternator/electric motor) TIGs. I dont want to spend a lot of money on a fancy water cooled torch setup... And thats about all I can find on eBay right now. Thanks in advance, if anyone has anything shoot me a message or post here.

Reply:Santa was good to me. I got a new 25' TIG torch with all of the available toys that go with it. God Bless the USA !........ and a gift certificate to my LWS for more toys.Mike
Reply:I'm not familiar with the set-up you mentioned, but I would suggest that if you are not using a proper welding machine that has a gas solenoid, you will want to invest in a torch that has a shielding gas valve on the handle. It is only for convenience, and it will save you from wasting gas un-neccessarily.Another feature for convenience is a flex head. I am trying to recall the part #, but I just aquired a new tig torch at work that is a one-piece, has the handle mounted gas valve, and is a flex head. It is manufactured by Lincoln, and is a magnum series 200 amp model. IIRC, number is some variation on the PTA-9. Didn't cost much either, only $175.00 Cdn. The adapter to convert over to the one piece torch was under $10.00Hope that helps.Later,Jason
Reply:The connector is a Powder Cable Adaptor and the torch you need is a 17FV-25. Should be under 150. JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases. There all here. : |
