No welding here but it makes money. I built my own sinks for my house 15 years ago because my wife wanted stainless, hammered sinks in the bath rooms and they cost hundreds of dollars and I'm a tight wad. I made them out of salad bowls that cost $9 for heavy duty ones. I just had to build four for a food truck a couple days ago and thought I would post how to do them in case any body else needed to do it.I have made sinks out of stainless, copper and brass bowls, a small tub, pots, pans and even a lid to a turkey basting pan. I charge $20 to make them and it takes about 5 minutes. You need a punch and a die. The punch is a 8# sledge head and the die is a board with a depression in it. For bath room and small sinks, you drill a 1 1/2" hole in it. Center it on the depression and center the hammer head on it and whack it one good lick with a 4# hammer and it's done. $20 please. Reply:Nice idea but NEVER strike 2 hardened things together because shrapnel is formed at times and has a unique way of finding itself embedded into the body.I still have a chunk of hammer in my leg from 30 years ago....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Great idea and beautiful sinks.  How tough is it to do the hammered/peened ones...any special technique involved other than wacking the heck out of the metal on a relatively soft surface?
Reply:Very Clever!! Nice!!
