I'm rebuilding a totaled Infiniti G37 sedan for my wife. It is hit on the passenger side, and the B-pillar (center post) is damaged low near the undamaged rocker. I have a used 1/4 cut for parts. The issue comes when sectioning UHSS. I believe this car uses 800Mpa steel (IDK what the alloy is yet), and there is no approved method for sectioning it. I'm thinking about sleeving it with 6 staggered 5/16" MIG plug welds per side and then MIG brazing the gap with SiBr. Any thoughts on welding or brazing this material? |
