I made this simple little TIG torch holder yesterday. I used a pegboard hook and first cut out the middle piece. Then I bent it to shape so it would hold the torch and curve back down. I used a scrap triangle piece for a base and did a couple of quick tacks. The triangle fits on the corner of my table. Later I plan to replace the clamp with a simple screw to hold in place. Reply:Here's one I did a while back, IIRC it was a 6 inch hook. The resistance weld broke while I was bending and cutting so I TIG brazed it back together and smoothed it out along with a washer to mount it.-Alex
Reply:Just made mine tonight.  No welding, but a little bit of machining.  Here's the bill of materials:► Harbor Freight 4" Magnetic ground block (item 30754, just the magnet part)*► 5/8-11 x 2" bolt with 1/4" hole cross-drilled a little bit down from the end► 5/8 USS flat washer► 5/8 SAE flat washer► 5/8-11 nuts► peghook** with middle finger cut off (used bolt cutters, milling machine, and deburring wheel)The cross-drilled hole also makes for a nice means of holding the bolt while tightening the lower nut since there's not really a good way to hold the head when it's up in the magnet.  I may add a few tacks to the spot weld on the peghook to beef up that joint.  Might also turn the top nut into a knob.  The magnet is probably a little overkill for what it's supporting, but better overkill than underkill...*It's not really 4" - Harbor Freight took the liberty of rounding the base's 3.427" OD up to 4".  **I picked one with the thicker of the two common peghook wire diameters out of my box of peghooks.  Wire diameter measured 0.206".  I cut the nub off the other end too. Reply:Here's an action shot.  The magnet is definitely overkill.  Fortunately it's easy enough to loosen the top nut and slide the fork out of the way when not needed.  The piece of pegboard seemed like an appropriate background to hide all the junk to the side of my bench for the picture.
