I have a 80 cu ft welding oxygen bottle. Does anyone know approximately what it will cost to put a new valve on it (the thing where you regulator screws in) ?
Reply:I pay about $20 when the bottle is being tested. I don't know if they would charge more to just replace the valve.GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.
Reply:Usually when you exchange a cylinder problem valves get dealt with automatically. My place doesn't even usually look at the test dates on cylinders when I exchange them. If I buy a used CL cylinder with a bad valve, usually I just swap it out for a good one..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:Valves aren't too expensive if you own the cylinder. It's common for cylinders to be changed from say oxygen valves to argon valves. I think it's about $40 or so to change a valve.
Reply:Hydro around me is 25.00. That usually consists of hydro test, re-dating, shot blast, paint, and re-valve.
Reply:Thanks. I'll take it to a refill station and have that done. I would like to think they would do that, anyway. |
