Reply:how do you cut the holes and the edges without burrs? even plasma cams leave some sort of slag behind. not knocking your skills or anything... just curious as to how you can get such clean parts with no defects.Later,Andy

Reply:With an oxygen based high definition plasma....on a precision cnc machine with a good height control system.....these type of parts are very easy to produce with virtually no secondary operations such as grinding. With an air plasma..on a good machine...any fine features and holes will be somewhat drossy...but the dross is easy to remove. Laser and water jet can also produce very nice dross free parts out of carbon steel...generally with higher accuracy than plasma....but at much slower speeds and at considerably higher operating cost.Plasma parts like these can be produced on a production basis with tolerances in the plus or minus .015" range.....laser and abrasive water jet in the plus or minus .005" to .010" range.Jim
Reply:They actually look like he is hand cutting them with a plasma cutter using template or something, then grinding the edges and drilling out the holes. My plasma cam leaves some dross on the edge, but it falls right off when you tap it with a hammer. Reply:Not trying to knock you Magnetic_Re, but it just seems wierd to try and sell gussets and tabs on a welding forum. Most guys here take pleasure in doing this kind of stuff themselves. Reply:Just an FYI,  It's not really worth making them by hand.Simple tabs like you have pictured are available for about $0.11 to $0.25 a peice.  And the gussets with the holes go for $0.19.  Even cheaper in bulk quantities.
