Can I make-up a set of these? Got a lead on and older AC/DC Thunderbolt for a good price; minus the leads.
Reply:Yes, but that machine better be a really good price. I see them regularly from $200 - $250 with the leads.Dave J.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:The plug that fits the Thunderbolt is the Lenco LC-10MP, available at your LWS or on-line.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:....it's $150. Leads will crowd a $100 so it's not a real hot deal.
Reply:Check with a couple of different LWS. Some sell 200 amp stick weld kits.Comes with a 25 or 50 ft roll of weld lead, work clamp and electrode holder. Three tweco lugs.Just add a set of miller or lenco plug jacks.
Reply:If the welder is in pretty good shape cosmetically, you would have an AC/DC for under $250. That's a pretty deal and I think you could always get your money back. If it is beat up, maybe you can do better. Does it have the crank on top or front? May have more problems getting parts on if the crank is on top, but these things don't have much to go wrong with them. I have had 2 with crank on top and currently have the newer model style.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
