I'm looking for a cast iron plate 17" X 21" give or take an inch 3/8" thick for a bigger cooktop for my wood stove..Look around and see what you have....$$$$ waiting.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Just my own curiosity here ....   is there any pros/cons using cast iron over mild steel of the same thickness for this purpose??????
Reply:Cast Iron gets much hotter much faster and stays hot longer after the fire goes out..They will both reach the same temp...One is just faster than the other..Ever see a mild steel frying pan without a coating on it of some type?...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:I thought about that later. 60+ gal of pancake batter. Zap could have a BIG breakfast party and envite a few hunderd of his closest friends. Hmmm, he'll need a bigger griddle. We might need to change his requirements from inches to feet to make it work.
Reply:The bowl with this set looks to be about maybe 4 gallons, at the most. However, it does have a reservoir tank, which could be used to flush the bowl with additional batter, as needed.
Reply:I think you guys are missing the point a little bit..Here is the stove..Top removed..This is what I need a bigger plate for..Trying to do something like this..Bigger surface for all the cast iron pans and skillets to fit better..It's a challenge to cook on it with so little surface area..And besides that the more iron to get hot the longer it lasts when the fire goes out.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Zap your tub looks kinda small, and you need to clean it a bit more often. Neat stove BTW.
Reply:That little stove heats the whole upstairs with no effort at all..Last winter was bad..4.5 cords..The only thing downstairs is the kitchen..Thermostat @55  who cares..I don't cook down there much when the stove is going..Saves electricity big time..Wait 'till next winter and see how many pellett and wood stoves go into play.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.

Reply:Hey Zap since you will be cooking how about a thick chunk of alum plate for the cook top. My family made thousands of wood burners in the 70's and my dad was expiermenting with alum for the tops...BobBob WrightSalem, Ohio  Birthplace of the Silver & Deming Drillhttp://groups.yahoo.com/group/southbend10k/http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sawking/1999 Miller MM185 w/ Miller 185 Spoolmate spoolgun
