Rod Oven Refresh..........

In September 2012 I bought a little Rod Oven from Stick-man.......... The unit has worked great..... and still does.........Now that we are getting settled into the new house....... I realized I have had a can of Hi-Temp black paint and Hi-Gloss Yellow Paint that I have had for almost as long........ just sitting there..... looking for a reason to exist..........Well...... what kind of project can I find to use those two colors...... just sitting there..... all lonely in my tool box............I wonder..........Rod Oven....... DING......I mean.... while it works great...... a little refresh would look nice..... and use up that paint......The before..........A little rusty and well used........The bottom pan was a rusty mess and took some elbow grease to get the rusted screws out.........Precision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:After some CLR on the bottom pan........ I took a wire wheel to the whole thing to get it as rust free as possible..... including the bottom pan........NOTE....... respirator was in use on almost this entire project..... Reply:Then it was painting time.......Used up the last half of that yellow spray paint........ Reply:Yep, nothing like a new coat of paint. Looks good. Years ago I painted a refrigerator, changed the color and looked like a new one, ran about 2 months and then it was shot.Just got an estimate for cheap paint job on my $500 Civic......for $800. Really scared to touch that one, I've had it 14 years and sure as heck the motor would lock up if I painted it!
