Well that is what I have.  It is a model-145-GZB.  Its a 6 cyl --817 cu. in.  The pony motor is a little 4 cyl motor.  It was used as a fire pump motor, in the factory I work, years ago.  It has been stored inside.  The pony motor I can turn over by hand but I havn't brought a pipe wrench over to see in I can turn over the big Waukesha.  Well I am looking at selling these but my main thing on here is to see if any of you can give me a little information on what it may be worth.  Thanks a lot, Matt    Feel free to ask any questions on this motor. Reply:Well thanks for a little info.  Sorry the pictures are not the best.  It was just a camera we had laying around at work.  I loaded up the pony and I have that at home, but I am still storing the wauk at work.  I would just like to make a little cash for the thing and I was thinking that if I couldn't find a buyer I would set the pony up to run the hyd. on a log splitter.  I think it would be a little different look.  Thanks again, Matt

Reply:Thats a very odd set up for a fire pump!! gas for fuel, diesel is far superior; looks like a hand clutch on the bell housing, that means it was not an automatic set-up as someone would have to be there to put the clutch in; has a fan on the water pump, most use the pump water for cooling and don't even have a radiator; and a pony motor, most engines for fire pumps have two sarters and a bank of batteries.I don't know much about this engine but I would say it is pretty old. Most fire pumps are set up to run almost wide open(well at least at a very high rpm) until they either run out of fuel, get low oil pressure, or self destruct. The engines that I deal with are diesel, have electric block heaters on them and when called into action crank and start and run very high rpm's, when they start they are running hard.I would say the rack of play pipes would be worth more than the engine, especially if you can find the tips that screw onto the ends. What kind of pump was this pulling?? Reply:I haven't seen a Waukesha in years (my granddad bought a huge one about 1970 to go on an irrigation well and you used to see them in the oilfield and sometimes on drilling rigs, but I haven't seen any in use in a very long time now.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:JohnsonMopar,Don't do anything rash, I'm thinking about it.
Reply:Yea the fire pump we have now is diesel and has two starters and a big 'ol bank of bats...G3farms are you talking about the rack of hose you can see in the one picture??  Well that is just a simple manifold setup with all of those ends on it.  We hook it up and slide the forks in the channel and drive around in our Cat Payloader...  Goodtimes...
Reply:denrep I will wait for ya...It is just an idea.  If you want I will try to get a few pictures...better pictures...at work in the morning.  If you have anything in mind you want pictures of let me know.
Reply:Yep those are what I am talking about, if they are in good shape and you can find the ends that screw onto them you might get $30 to $150 bucks for them. Alot depends on who made them, collectors items.Good luck with it.G3miller... 225g, s32p, 250x, 304, 12vs, MSW41     victor o/a thermal dynamics cutmaster 50 lenco panel spotter        hobart hf-boxG3 Farms.....raising cattle, hay, kids and hell, ...oh yeah I'm a fire sprinkler contractor by trade.
Reply:That play pipe set up was most likely for the annual fire pump test.  I've seen that type of arrangement before.  As for the Wauki they were VERY popular as fire pump drivers in their time and equally so in fire engines.  Most had dual distributors and dual spark plugs in each cylinder for reliability in the 'heat of the battle'.  Most of those found in fire trucks also had dual carbs and really sucked up the bug juice.  Been a long time since I've been in one of those.  About as long as the old Mack gas jobs that were the precurser to their 673 Thermodyne diesel.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
