Im looking at a HTP Invertig 221 and a Miller Syncrowave 210. Can i get torch parts for the HTP at a local supply? Im stuck between these 2 machines but leaning to the HTP for portability however don't want to have to go online every time i need a part for the torch. Any info would be great.Last edited by drivesector; 02-09-2015 at 05:51 PM.Drivesector Hobart Handler 140Hobart Handler 180Ready Welder 2Hobart Air Force 400Airco Stinger 225Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most."OZZY"
Reply:Both machines are solid, going online for torch parts? pretty sure htp uses ck torches. Portability to me is an overused term.. How often will you tig weld outside or a buddy's house?
Reply:Get a precision tig 225 it's got more amps and cheaper then the 210. The 225 has 230 amps

Reply:Originally Posted by drivesectorI see that is nice however I need to keep it single phase 220. That machine is 460v.
Reply:I plugged mine in to 220 I don't think it's 460.maybe the 375 is 460. Trust me you will want a wp20 real fast. 17 gets hard to hold welding 125 amps on DC in about 5- 8 minutes. I wanna upgrade to a 20 just don't have the $ yetLast edited by motolife313; 02-09-2015 at 06:50 PM.

Reply:Yes please do some research on these machines. The Lincoln 225 and 375 are both 240v machines.
Reply:Originally Posted by drivesectorI have been tig welding for quite some time using a Miller at work and had a old lincoln. I'm not a pro welder, don't claim to be just asked if the HTP torches parts were available at LWS because I didn't want to have issues.
Reply:Originally Posted by AKweldshopI believe you, but you should know by now, that a 20 water cooled torch, is a 20 water-cooled torch.Meaning any 20 torch will interchange gas lens and back caps with each other. All the torches HTP/USAweld sells, are CK brand.I'm trying to cut thru the misunderstandings here.
Reply:When the guys at the welding shops ask what kind of torch I have I say 17. They don't ask what brand or anything like that. Pretty sure they all hold same parts. If you get paid to weld that would make you a professional weldor
Reply:Thanks moto, and I was also looking at the wrong model power tig when the guy above suggested it.I was looking at mod# k2533-2 when it came up which is a 460 machine. I just noticed the other units.Drivesector Hobart Handler 140Hobart Handler 180Ready Welder 2Hobart Air Force 400Airco Stinger 225Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most."OZZY"

Reply:I have no experience with the HTP, but I would choose that over the Syncrowave. When you do aluminum, you will need the adjustments in frequency. The Syncrowave is stuck at 60hz, which is decent, but not always ideal. Also, I'm just not a big fan of Syncrowaves. I've blown up 3 of them, even though I watched how much I was welding and made sure I stayed in the duty cycle, a Miller rep said I was "working the machine too hard"."If you ain't making mistakes, it means you aren't learning anything."
Reply:Actually the Syncrowave 210 is an inverter and can be upgraded by software to do higher frequencies. My issue is they make you something like $300 for that software on top of the price of the machine. Go HTP all the way, no doubt. Higher amp output, you get all the features included in the base price and don't have to pay for the software upgrades. It is a kick *** machine. I love my old school Syncrowave, but if I ever upgrade to an inverter, HTP is on the top of the list. You will be hard pressed to find anyone on this board that had a bad experience with that machine or HTP. For the money you save on the upgrades, you can buy a water cooler from HTP to go with your welder.Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:Another vote for the HTP. It's a great machine and USA weld are great to deal with. Also if you are going through TIG torch parts you are probably doing something wrong. They are not like MIG nozzles.Grab a gas lens kit for your series of torch, some tungstens and you should be set for quite a while. The HTP gas lens kit comes with a pyrex cup and wedge collets. If you do go with HTP, don't order online, give them a call and explain you are starting out and need everything to get started. They might give you a discount or throw in some goodies.Hobart 210 MVPHTP Invertig 221 + coolerEverlast SuperUltra 205
Reply:I have bought supplies from HTP.Fast service, reasonable prices.Good place to buy from.
