saw blade lube

I just bought a dewalt multi cutter saw with a carbide blade.  I was doing some searching and some people said they use a lubricant on the blade to extend the life.  What kind of lubricant should I use?  I've never used a saw like this before so trying to learn all I can.  Also don't want to ruin alot of expensive blades.Also anyone have a recomendation for replacement blades?  And where to get them?  Thanks, Scott
Reply:I believe straight up paraffin is the choice, but wait for some one to second that.
Reply:I use DoALL Tool Saver. It's a paraffin based stick 'bout 1 1/2" in diameter and 10 or so inches long. About the consistancy of hard soap and it lasts forever, great for aluminum as it prevents the chips from sticking in the gulletts of the blades as well steel and even wood....Mike
Reply:The commercial saw waxes are slightly better than regular paraffin.  Give the blade a spin and spread wax on both sides of the saw.  After loading make a single cut through a 2X4 or similar timber.  The wax remaining will last for over 100 cuts.  The sides of the blade should feel greasy.  As the saw is used the wax will migrate to the teeth.  You do not need excessive amounts.  If you overload you will contaminate welds.

Reply:I use stick wax, redially avalable from Grainger, MSC, Fastenll, etc...Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
