I hated my lightweight stands to hold material when cutting it on the band saw so I got the students to help build some some new stands.  I made them the height of the saw which is about 4 inches shorter than our table tops.I also wanted something to extend the table top when using the plasma to cut longer pieces of metal or circles.  I made a flip up bar.  I explained to the students that we wanted a double duty stand that would work at both heights, but didn't have anything we could lose, or need tools to use, so here is what we built. Reply:Love it!  I have a similar saw, and have been thinking of making a material stand for it.  I love the double-duty use of your stands.-AaronJet 17.5" Drill Press1942 South Bend 16x84 Lathe1980s Miller 320A / BP --- 2013 Power Mig 2562012 Jet 7x12 Horizontal BandsawVictor O/A Setup
Reply:It also makes it easy to move material by yourself.
