Reply:They are okay, Your better off getting a pipeliner hood with a golden phillips safety lens of your preferred shade level.Miller Maxstar 200 SDPiperliner #10 Gold

Reply:I have one and its good for the price but it would flash me somtimes. I would say every few hours of welding. Seemed like when i stick welded with it it would constantly flash me. I bought a used nexgen for 160$. If you can afford used mask for around 160$ that would be the way to go. There is a big difference on visibility of the tungsten arc and puddle!im a tig weldor btw. Hope that helps
Reply:I have had one for over a year, they aren't bad for the price, I use mine now on grind mode for plasma cutting. There is a big difference in clarity to the Lincoln 3350 and even a Fema hood I have that was cheaper off fleebay but doesn't have grind mode. Hey, but till you get a better hood you can see just fine.Thermal Arc 210 - Tweco 211I - Cutmaster 52
Reply:i don't get it and i probably never will. why would anyone risk their eyes with a bargain basement shield. if you can't or don't want to go for the cash for a decent ad buy a fixed shade.i.u.o.e. # 15queens, ny and sunny fla
Reply:That was my first hood and I'll keep it for a backup. It works OK for MIG but when I bought my TIG welder I was getting flashed. Due to the small hood I also needed neck protection so I didn't get sunburned. Finally got a Lincoln 3350 and that solved the problems. Honestly the HF lense is pretty good and the price is right, but if you do TIG then it just isn't worth the flashing and sunburn issues. The more sensors, the better.Syncrowave 210HH140Victor O/A

Reply:Harbor Fright AD hoods are crappola for low amp tig unless you have a tig with high speed pulse. Even the older AD hoods can be crappola, like my now dead Optrel Solara, and dead ArcOne. I just hired a "Certified Mig Weldor" who swears by his H-F hood, but found out real quick that it flashes him on tig. Sold him a made in USA analog hood.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:I started out with a HF Blue Flame AD helmet and it was ok but like others have said, you will get flashed occasionally. I have a Hobart Impact AD helmet and it works much better and I can see better with it also for stick and MIG and it's still relatively inexpensive. I don't TIG much (still learning) but I did get an old Jackson helmet with a #10 fixed shade for that. Just didn't have good luck with either of the AD helmets when trying to TIG.GraysOrnamentalIron.com |
