Reply:I would, I like those old Airco's for some reason. I've tig welded with an old miller that looked like that. Go for it!
Reply:Looks like a real deal. You cant go too wrong for 75 bucks. Copper is worth that much. Them old welders are usually pretty good. Not much to go wrong with them. You can always find someone to trade it to when you move up.
Reply:Looks like it is just a stick welder, so no HF, solenoid valves for gas/water or plug for a remote. If you need a stick welder then $75 is hard to beat for an AC/DC machine.Airco Ac/Dc 300 HeliwelderMillerMatic 200 (stolen)Miller Maxstar 150STLMiller AEAD200LE (welding and generating power) Hobart MIG
Reply:hf isn't a deal breaker nor is it not having a gas solenoid. I've never used a hf nor a machine with a gas solenoid. when I've used GTAW its been on a ranger 10k plus and use an air cooled torch and manual gas valve

Reply:Buy it, it is a rebadged Dialarc, worth $250 all day long.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:That's just a Dialarc with different colors. $75 is a steal if it works.A 60 amp circuit will run it for most normal loads. You will trip a 50 amp breaker sometimes. It will take more if you get into the 200 amp range and up. Maxing it out can take up to 90 amps.Dave J.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:I've got the room and can add the input power, just need to convince the wife I need it. lol.on a side note, how difficult would it be to TIG with this machine (dc only of course)
Reply:It will tig DC just fine Just no foot control - but people do it that way every day.Dave J.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.
Reply:Buy it, $75. is a no-brainer. Reply:I have that exact welder. You won't regret buying it especially at that price. I paid $450 for an exceptionally clean model. However, there are things that can spoil the happiness of this purchase. It may have bad diodes or a bad amp adjustment rheostat. Mine had a bad rheostat and welded wide open at any setting. I purchased a used Miller RHC-3 on eBay for $40 and replaced the rheostat (it is the same part number) and now the welder works perfectly.I added a WP17-FV tig torch, changed the connectors to large dinse style twist lock, changed the machine side receptacles to large dinse, and have been tiggin' for a year or more with mine using scratch start method. You can also add high frequency and weld aluminum on AC. Will be crude but will work.BE PREPARED! This thing is heavy!Last edited by MWalden; 08-18-2013 at 07:02 PM.
