We want to build a pull along cart with an air horn or some obnoxious noisemaker when our school makes a touchdown at the football games.  We want to build it small enough to ride in the back of a pickup but light enough that a couple of boys can run around the field, with the flag flying in celebration and making a lot of noise.I don't even know what to call it, but I am open to ideas.  I think it should have mountain bike tires so it will roll easily across the grass.
Reply:CO2/compressed air "steam whistle"Could make the whistles out of aluminum,  light weight. Then add a CO2 tank or a scuba tank and blast away.Could even make a cart out of two mountain bikes so they can drive it around.
Reply:Train horns from a big rig... I once had a neighbor on base who some how managed to acquire a diving claxon from an old diesel sub. That would do it!.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:gas powered air compressor with an air horn on it. No need for external power, no need to fuss about refilling the tank, and plenty light enough to put on a cart and run around the field. but if the league is anything like the NFL you'll get fined and suspended for un-sportsman like conduct. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger
Reply:Look into air raid sirens. back in WWII they had some that were surprisingly loud, hand held and powered by a crank you turned by hand. Some were larger and sat on the ground. No gas. No compressor. No electric. Just wear good ear plugs.Last edited by browncoat; 11-07-2013 at 03:55 PM.
Reply:A little C4 and a few blasting caps and you won't need a cart.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com

Reply:I would think a vehicle air horn of some sort and a paintball CO2 cylinder with suitable regulator would be the most blast for the buck. Pick up one of those baby jogger carriages free or cheap off of Craigslist. I'll bet you could even adapt an old paintball gun to be the trigger for the horn.  (Gives me an idea ... )  It could even be small enough that you don't need wheels."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder

Reply:TRAIN HORNS, period.
Reply:One of those ice cream bicycles fabbed up with atv tires on it, painted school colors,  and 4 air horns mounted on the front, with one of those 12volt air compressors running it.... or about 4 of those ones broccoli posted..tackleexperts.comwww.necessityjigs.comhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/mach...dingequipment/
Reply:Another vote for train horn. I have a Nathan Airchime that is too loud even with earplugs. It can be heard for miles! Downside is they use a lot of air. Mine needs 100psi minimum to really work good and it'll take my 30gal air tank from 125psi to 100psi in about 4-5 seconds. I plan to rig mine up as a burglar alarm in my shop   Maybe you could make one run on nitrogen or CO2 with the right regulator?Safety 3rdGump
Reply:The good thing about using co2 is that it would freeze the tank and stop you after about 5 minutes so you don't drive everyone crazy. After it warms up it would work again. That would give the team enough time to score again.

Reply:Some of our kids don't need the megaphone!
Reply:Helium tanks, filled with a dozen or so ball bearings.
Reply:Here is our competition.  It just sits there and makes noise.  I want something the boys can pull around and is light enough to go in the back of a pickup. Attached Images
