If this works, it seems like a really good deal to me. I am looking for my first machine (and had possibly planned for diversion 180.) While I would like something in the 200-250 range, this might be a good machine to start out on. What do you think? http://daytona.craigslist.org/tls/4026507476.html
Reply:Just my opinion, but I'd take a sync 180 in good condition hands down over most other "entry level" machines such as econotig, diversion, etc. If at all possible, I'd test it before buying.
Reply:You will be a lot better off with this machine. You will save enough money for an argon bottle, cooler, and water cooled torch and you will be able to do a lot more, for a lot longer. I bought a 1995 Syncrowave 250 and love working with it. It will handle anything I throw at it. You can also expect him to have some tungstens, maybe some filler rod, gloves, who know what. Ask for a bottle if he has one, or a helmet. Chances are you will get a few hundred dollars in freebies.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com
Reply:It's a good machine at an excellent price. I learned originally on one of those years ago. It lacks a few of the newer advanced functions of say a Syncro 200, but at that price you can't beat it. It will still have more power and options then say a new Diversion.Chances are if you ever feel the need to upgrade, you can get every penny back reselling it, if not make a $100-200 on the deal..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
