Red-D-Arc D300 3+3 resto mod

Thought I'd post some pictures of the D300 3+3 I bought in July. Hour meter says 927 hours on Kubota V1903 diesel.

Reply:My welding partner lives in NC and saw it on Craigslist in Ashville. I bought it for $3500 and it came with 100' of brand new 2/0 cable and 100' of 1/0 cable. He went and picked it up for me from one heck if a nice guy. I filled the hole with a MIG wire feeder. On the larger holes I used a piece of copper from an old 200amp fuse. It's about 2-3" long 1 1/2" wide and close to a 1/4" thick. It makes a good back stop! I didn't paint it. One of the guys at church worked part time for a body shop guy that started doing side work. They were slow so he ended up taking it to work. He painted it there and baked it in their oven. It only cost me $400 including the paint($125 a quart). I wanted to keep the cost down so I asked for a minimum of body work.

Reply:Very nice. I think I may have done a lot of the welding that went on that machine. From the hinge barrels down to the base. Including the lift bale. Enjoy.

Reply:I had asked the painter about the color when I first started picking up the painted sheet metal. He never gave me a solid answer. The most I got out of him was that it was a GM color that is used on their European autos. I have him DuPont B8012 (Medium Opal pearl) and I guess he found the closest he could find.One Step Ahead Of The Home Owners Association.
