I have a pro tools 105 bender, and I'd like to convert it to vertical hydraulic.Anybody ever do that type of conversion?CR
Reply:hi Build your own. It portable and works great. Plans fromwww.gottrikes.com/AH_tubebender.htm have funTom Attached Images
Reply:Thanks, I should have in the first place!!! I bought a Pro-tools 105 about 10 years ago and used it a dozen times or so since then. I needed to make 4 or 5 bends, so I just relocated it and bolted it to the floor again. I'm going to mount it vertical and use the same cylinder as you from Harbor Freight, just don't need it at the moment...Thanks for the info...CR
Reply:acourtjester, Who made the dies your have?
Reply:Pro-tools and another vender make them in many sizes and degrees of rotation.http://www.pro-tools.com/302tdies.htmhave funtom
Reply:I built the same bender that Tom mentioned. It works great. If you already have a 105 then maybe check out http://www.probender.com/ they make a vertical 105 knockoff and a vertical JD2 knockoff. Might give you some ideas on converting yours. A buddy converted his JD2 to vertical and it works well..
Reply:acourtjester -i got the free plans from pro tools. i dont like it as much as yours, its the type that needs to be bolted to the floori think all this charging for bender plans is sillyL-Tec Heliarc 250hf squarewaveCentury AC/DC 250A Stick Lincoln WeldPak 100
Reply:Hi Its nice to get free plans but you should remember that it takes time to document the info for the plans. I have bought plans and sold plans and have given plans for free I even have had plans published in magazines. No complaints on any transactions. Most of the time the cost for plans is not that much $5. to $25. Just think of all the time you save following a set of plans compared to building a project from scratch.Maybe you should develope something and write it up and see what it takes and maybe you will be more willing to pay.If you feel like giving your plans away that's great you will make someone happy!Have funTom
