Hang your tig torch cable from the ceiling keeps it neat and out of the way

I've seen a lot of people say to wrap your tig torch cable over your shoulders', tried that and it's annoying. I have a hook right above my tig machine and another one above my welding table. I just run the cable from the first hook to the second. all of my work is on a welding table, might not work that great if you move your welder around on a cart all over the place. also took that heavy protective cover off the cable and just put it on the last 5 feet or so, since that is the only part of the cable that gets roughed up/Works awesome

Reply:I have a low ceiling (6' 6" underneath a loft in my shop), so it's easy to reach.  So while this works for me, it might not work for most.I have eyes set in a few places in the ceiling, and carabiners hanging from them that I clip onto my tig torch hoses, and pedal control wire (I keep the two run together).  Much better than stepping on either, though I do run my ground wire on the floor.I also have a magnet zip tied to the site of my TIG torch handle (all the way at the back where it doesn't affect my hold).  So I can stick it to anything convenient when I want to put it down.

Reply:Well, I have a swing arm mounted on my welding table. The cable is fixed with some welcrow for fast remove, if I wanted the welder somewhere else.
Reply:I have a magnet from a hard disk drive hanging above my table (on a heavy wire). Reach up and put the hot end of rod to it, it 'dangles' down at back of table, ready to grab 'the cool end'.-c-What is the sound of one knee jerking?

Reply:Harbor Freight has these Hooks for .99 sometimes. When they do, I buy 1/2 dz (and I've done this 1/2dz times ).Keeps the hoses clean, un-burnt, out of the way, and off you. I "draw" from the coil on the left when I need more and push it back when I don't. Works pretty well!
