Theres a weldanpower 130 for 200 dollars on craiglist thinking about maybe taking a stab at it. Description says welder and generator work good but engine needs carb work. Not really looking to do anything to heavy just thought it would be handy to have a portable welder. What do you guys think of the welder for the price?
Reply:Most likely ac welding current as well as ac power. I've got one in the garage from memory I think it's like 3500 watts of 110ac while not welding. For 200 if you can do the carb work I'd say it can't be that bad if you can verify it puts out power.
Reply:If it will run, weld, and produce power to the outlet that wouldn't be too bad at all. Carburetor kit should be sub $20.
Reply:LOL!There are 3 of them on EBay for over $1000 with a TON of people watching them! Last I ever saw one sell on there went over $500! I have one, they are good handy machines to get you out of a Farm Field or to keep the house lit up on a cold winter night!
Reply:If it puts out power, I'd say that's a fair price. I bought and rebuilt one about a year ago and it's been a handy machine. I don't remember what the Kohler parts cost, but they weren't real expensive.Like you say, it's not for heavy work, but for farm repair and such, it does well and it's more convenient than a big machine sometimes. Having a DC option would be nice, but it's really not a big deal. |
