this thing from Lowes gets great product reviews. Cashed in some gold, I was soooo tired of not having an air compressor. Next, a sandblasting outfit. Gotta save them pennys though.Learned one thing immediately, never buy cheap hose and fittings, the air flow is very restricted by the crap fittings and the hose immediately blew a hole in the outer sheath WTF??5.3 cfm @ 90 psi6.2 cfm @ 40 psi$399Last edited by kenklingerman; 04-02-2010 at 06:06 PM.HH187Hobart 500i plasma cutterClark 4.5" GrinderDewalt 14" chop saw30 gallom 1.6 hp compressor10 gallon pressure pot sand blasterlots of hand tools
Reply:Does the motor have a tag that states it is capable of 220V?I prefer the motor and compressor being separate and driver by a belt.Nice score!-Rhyno07 Fowler 200D65 RedFace04 Miller TB 302, 22hpMiller 12RCMiller HF 251-1Lincoln SP135HyperTherm PM 380and a few others... Reply:I was looking at those.. when I purchased an Ingersoll Rand 60 Gal. It is only 3 HP but it does 11.3 CFM at 90 PSI. for 550.00 on sale woo hooo, and I have been happy with it ,although If I was sandblasting probably would have purchased the two stage maybe the 5 HP 60 GAL. single stage is rated for 18.1 at 90 PSI. I may have to put a larger motor on this one if I need more air now lotta cash for the motor...My plasma cutter seems to like it.... it keeps up with it unlike the lil buzz box of an oiless compressor I had was useless for sure. I hope you are looking at a different comp. for a sand blast rig or only doing small parts... you may only get a couple min. at a time out of that unit. Even for plasma units they say 6 cfm. like my lil PM 30....but most people get at least double the recommended cfm. Most of the CFM ratings are minimum to run the device.... I did go bigger and it still can be a problem if the comp cycles on and off tooo much so I dunno search around on the forum and you'll see the recommendations from all the users of various equipment and such. Good luck with your new compressor. Lincoln 225 Tombstone,Miller Big 20,Hobart 180,150' Argon,A/D hobart hood 22 Ton Log splitter,79 F350 dump eats 4.75 TONS and still turns cutters, grinders,And a Hypertherm POWERMAX 30

Reply:Looks like a nice compact unit, I like the vertical layout, makes for a smaller footprint. I'm in the market to upgrade, so how much CFM/pressure do I need to run a cabinet sand blaster?? Need to cleen up some 2' x 3' sheeet metal for repainting.
