My journey to build a smoker has begun. Ive secure the tank to be my cooking chamber. I will be on the lookout for my Firebox( a smaller propane tank). Im very ignorant of smokers in general and will be doing a lot of R&D before I even start to cut this thing. Ill want to lockdown a design first. for me SIMPLE is ALWAYS the best. I struggle with advanced concepts sometimes. I will post pics of everything s I go so that way if anyone wants to ever try it, they will have all the things to avoid doing documented. J/K.. all comments and suggestions are welcome, I do not offend easily esp once you guys see my welds. lay it on me so that I may improve. Attached Images

Reply:what he means is they make it seem harder than it is. or more to the point the emphasize the danger or cutting a sealed vessel. There are many ways to make it safer, but it's still dangerous.  As for the build. get on it. and visit thesmokering.com they have tons of useful info for any type of smoker build you'd want to do.Welds are fun and all, but lets be honest. We all want to see the product that comes out of the smoker, not the smoker itself. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:Man if you were closer is let you use my gas scope to check the LEL and see if you even needed to fill with water or purge. Then cut he bad boy. That will make a great smoker for sure.
Reply:Yea i cnt wait. Im gonna ask the fire dept to use a gas monitor. Itll be sitting like that for an entire weekend while i go camping lol.Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Reply:Thanx for the handy info. Ill be bleaching it when I get back. Also i  have a question. Once this thing has been washed and aired out for a few days, what possible risk could be Left of any flashing or igniting. Shouldn't there be no propane vapors/residue left to ignite? I see alot of people worry. But i cant wrap my head around why. I am also not a chemist so maybe someone is more learned than me on here lol.Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Reply:Sounds good to me. I was curious how any vapors coukd be present after the filling proccess, why some ppl fill wit co2 or inert gases at all. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
