I have to reweld the mounts on my race bike exhaust (two mounting points - each is approximately 1 inch wide).I know I have to back purge to get the weld right but does anyone have any advice on how to clean several thousand miles of carbon deposits off the inside of the tubing? Is it absolutely necessary since this isn't a highly technical weld?Appreciate any help.
Reply:Burn it off? Thats how my pipes were repaired and they were always full of GOLDEN Spectro. Fixing dents was cool to watch. The mechanic would plug the ends, back fill with Nitrogen , heat the dent area and tap on the side of the dent. Turn the Nitrogen pressure up and the dent would pop out. |
