My Syncrowave 250 has a drawer! I've had the welder 5 years and only now have I discovered it. The manual makes no mention of it, other than in the parts list. I had to take to top cover off for the first time to get access in order anchor something to the back panel. Then I thought, where in hell did those two virgin dinse plugs in a plastic bag and a shunt strip come from? By God, it's a drawer! Alert the media.
Reply:Handy for storing tungstens, collets, collet bodies, ScotchBrite pads, TIG fingers, those paper Miller welding calculators, etc.Not sure how you missed it, I noticed mine right away.
Reply:Too bad someone wasnt hiding stacks of $100s in that draw...lolOf all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
Reply:I don't think mine has a drawer. what year is your machine and where is the drawer?Miller Multimatic 255

Reply:Yes, pictures please. Very curious
Reply:Yes, a 250 DX. Here's the pic. I thought the pull of the drawer was for pulling the welder around, not for a drawer. Last edited by kajonga; 04-09-2015 at 10:57 PM.
Reply:Take the cover off the machine and you'll also see the meatball has a wooden core!
Reply:I can't find a date on the thing but I recall getting it new in late 2010, early 2011.

Reply:Those drawer slides tend to break over time, and the little ball bearings fall out.Mine never did, but I've worked on a few of them that have. All and all a good machine. I suspect Miller will most likely stop making them at some point soon, being the Dynasty line has become their flagship product as far as TIG machines go.Miller started making Syncrowave 250s around 1988. The DX machines came on the scene in the late 90s. The bigger Syncrowave 300 and 500 machines were manufactured long before that starting in the early 70s. The Dialarc HF and A/BP 330 were phased out around that same time period Miller started making the S'Wave 250. They also offered the Aircrafter 330ST which was a transformer/solid state hybrid style machine, which they made from the late 80s into the early 90s IIRC.It's neat to find stuff like that. Mine never had anything of value in it Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948

Reply:I guess mine is to old to have a drawer. I believe mine is 03-05ish.When did they go to the wood core? What kind of wood? lol12v battery, jumper cables, and a 6013.I only have a facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/VPT/244788508917829
Reply:I'll have to look closer at the newest Syncrowave 250 at the tech school next time I'm there. all the older 250's have the drawer. It's where the manual is typically kept and the kids are forever tossing spare collets, cups and tungstens in there. ( They are supposed to turn in say the red 3/32" tungsten and parts when they grab the 1/8" green stuff for doing alum and vise versa...) The newest one doesn't have a drawer I'd noticed, but haven't really looked all that close since usually I was looking to scrounge parts for one of the tig torches on theXMT's when they don't leave us the keys to the lock up or have any spare parts in the instructors desk drawer..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Mine was the plastic later style.Come to think of it, I remember you buying that and if I recall, you got a great deal on it Expert Garage Hack....https://www.facebook.com/steven.webber.948
