Will a HF-251D-1 run on 115v 100hz ? I have a AEAD-200, and was wondering if anybody has run a HF unit off of the 100hz outlet while welding. A HF-251d-1 is being offered for sale at a low price, would it be worth it ? Someday I might move up to a bobcat 250 , would it work on that as well? I don't do that much tig welding outside of the shop, but the price might worth not passing up. https://www.weldingweb.com/images/smilies/confused.gifAirco 250 ac/dc Heliwelder Square waveMiller Synchrowave 180 sdMiller Econo Twin HFLincoln 210 MPDayton 225 ac/dcVictor torchesSnap-On YA-212Lotos Cut60D
Reply:YES. My HF250D-1 actually says 50/60/100 hz on the front panel. I would bet the only difference is that your newer model is a 14 pin remote plug vs my older one with a 5 pin plug.I lucked out when this was given to me, it had the secondary contactor already installed, without one, your torch will be always hot, tho I think you could make something work. I went a bit over the top when I set mine up, just cant resist a challenging project. My tig setup on the 89 AEAD 200LE has the HF box, a RCF-23 foot pedal with amperage control, and a water cooler for the torch. And it idles up with the touch of the pedal, and back down just like stick welding.I could give you pointers about how to add a foot pedal, etc if interested.
Reply:Good to know. Was going to check it out to see what came with it. Yes it has a 14 pin plug. Looks like there is a torch also.
