Miller (liquide) and Canox Tig/Stick Welder?

Hey everybody! i am interested to know more about this!Is the blue stick welder a miller? The top part (canox) is also a miller. I remember the salesman slip was tucked in the canox welder and said it was from 1965.Also could you tell me how to hook up the ac and dcen and dcep roughly with the welder?the Canox tig rectifier has a switch AC/DC:roll eyes:VictorPraxairAir LiquideMillerLincoln Electric
Reply:It is not an AC/DC welder and I'm not positive it's a miller. Look at the bottom picture, it says Industrial AC welder. The Canox box is a high frequency for AC TIG.
Reply:wow It does look similar to a miller but im not sure ive never seen one that old!! not sure when miller started making the thunderbolts? I was thinking early 80s..?  and I believe the above poster is right its ac and some kidna hi freq box... let us know how it works!

Reply:"Mains" electricity is AC. A welder can be AC or DC or both.  It must have rectifiers to convert the AC welder output to DC.  (Edit: unless it's a rotary DC generator type welder). Reply:Ok that makes sense. so switching the cables doesn't do anything. there is a plug on the back of the welder that connects the power to both of the welders by the way!I had a family friend who is a welder come by and help me with the proper setup, and he said if you put the cables and connections a certain way it can work with both DCEN DCEP and AC.
